I believe we should wear what feels right and not allow ourselves to overthink things, because too much styling will ruin your personal and unique look that makes you, you. However, there are a few general “rules” I follow when it comes to layering necklaces and jewelry, they are very simple and you can achieve a similar style.
1 | Decide if you want to wear long or short chains because wearing both at the same time can look a bit over the top and messy.
2 | When wearing several chains at the same time choose similar sizes within the same style. For example, choose 3x gold chains that 40, 45 and 50 cm in length. Avoid wearing multiple chains of the same length.
3 | Try to avoid wearing pendants that are too heavy on your chain. Broken chains are a common problem, especially with a long chain, be careful to not hang too much weight on it. A double or chunkier chain will solve this problem
4 | Re-purpose a longer chain, for example, our 80 cm chain is perfect either as one long chain you can double it, and create a short-chain depending on the neckline of what you are wearing.
5 | Choose a chain that either sits above your chest or under. The chain that ends just on the chest will often look out of place and irritate you when walking.
6 | Use an extension depending on what clothes you are wearing. We are offering both 5 and 10 cm extensions that are easy to use and can add that extra needed length.
And if in doubt remember Coco Chanel's words: “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”
